Synergy Hair’s Harrogate Hero – nominate your hero!

Synergy Hair has now been at our new salon on Cheltenham Parade for one year, and to celebrate our birthday we’d like to give something back to the Harrogate community.

We’ve decided to search for our ‘Harrogate Hero’, a very special person who deserves a very special treat! This person may be your mum, dad, carer, teacher, son or daughter – or a friend! They may have had a very tough year, or been there for you in your hour of need, we want you to nominate this individual for the ‘Synergy Hair Local Hero’ award.

The winner will be invited to Synergy Hair Salon, and be treated to a hair colour, cut and deep conditioning treatment, make up or manicure, a light lunch and all in their own  private salon – VIP style! To finish the day the winner and their guest will enjoy a sumptuous dinner including fine wines at Harrogate Bar and Grill on parliament Street.

All you have to do is send us your name, address and contact details along with the name, address and contact details of the person whom you are nominating, and tell us why you think this person deserves to win, don’t forget to send us a picture too. (if your entry is chosen you’ll win a fab prize too!)

Booming Harrogate Business Helps Local Charity

Staff, customers and people of Harrogate raised £300 for Marie Curie nurses at Synergy Hair in Harrogate last week.

Over 70 people attended their inaugural ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’, an event which the charity is encouraging everyone across the UK to hold this summer to help Marie Curie nurses to provide free care to people with terminal cancer and other terminal illnesses in their own homes.

Owner of Synergy Hair Sarah Ulyett said: “Fridays are traditionally a very busy day here at Synergy so we drew on this opportunity to support the Marie Curie Nurses.   Every customer was offered the chance to enjoy a cup of tea and delicious cake with us in return for a donation to the charity.  I’m hoping that this event will become an annual occasion here.  Every single member of the salon team was involved and all baked a fabulous selection of delicious cakes.”

She continued:  “We’re fully supporting the Blooming Great Tea Party and hope everyone will bake a cake, pop the kettle on, invite a few friends round and help Marie Curie Cancer Care to care for more terminally ill people.  Last year, Blooming Great Tea Party events across the UK raised a total of £750,000 which is enough to pay for 37,500 hours of essential nursing care.  It’s a cause that’s close to everyone’s heart and it’s so important to remember that Marie Curie Nurses work a full 10 hour shift with a patient and their families. There is no charge to either the patient or their families for this service so they rely on successful events like this one.”

Attendee Carole Rakusen said: “I had a wonderful afternoon at Synergy.  It was a really good feeling to not only be pampered myself but also help such a worthy cause.  There was a fantastic selection of scrummy cakes which everyone enjoyed and we were all more than happy to generously donate to the charity (I even had some cakes wrapped to take away).  The charity is one that’s close to a lot of people's hearts.  Marie Curie Nurses are truly wonderful.”
